Discussing
the role of the Anzacs in the Western Macedonia region of Greece with
the President of the Assembly George Papadopoulos and Vice Governor
Christos Evagelos.supported by local Vaggelis Ioannidis who is helping us out in reinforcing
the important role of the Anzacs in the Battle of Vevi the first time
in WW2 that the Anzacs joined together with the Greeks and Brits against
the German advance in April 1941.the Prefecture wants to permanently
recognize the role of the Anzacs. They are organizing a ceremony at the
cenotaph of Xinon Nero on 1May where Australian MP's with Anzac Tours in
Greece and Military History Tours Australia join together to honour the
31 Anzacs that fell and those Anzacs that fought against the elite
Hitler Panzer Division together with their Greek allies
